Tequila is never the answer.

Tequila avoidance is a lesson I learned at the tender age of seventeen. If Shannon from The Devil To Pay had just asked me, I could have warned her. But then she would never have met Michel and Liam and that would have been a rotten shame.

The Devil To Pay is the first novella in Maria Zannini’s Second Chances series. When Shannon’s life is falling apart she indulges in bad tequila and offers up her soul for a way out. Unfortunately, she wasn’t real specific about who she was offering it to and both heaven and hell decide to collect. The collection agents, or soul harvesters, are two incredibly sexy half brothers. Which one will take her soul and which one will lose his heart trying to save it?

This story sizzles with lusty indulgence. I’m tempted to call it a sexy romp, because it can be as wonderfully funny as it is hot, but that wouldn’t really convey how deeply the author makes you care for these characters. You can’t help but root for them, cry for them, cheer for them.

I will definitely look forward to new installments in this series.

  3. Jim Beam, straight, no chaser once was my drink of choice. Never got a hangover until that one fateful morning… Long story, but suffice it to say, I was ready to offer up my soul! This story sounds very intriguing. Do you think I’d like it now that I’m expanding my readerly horizons, Miss C?

    • How do you feel about erotic themes? In this story Shannon has sexy adventures with both Michael and Liam (though not at the same time). If you’re okay with that, then you’ll love it.

Charlie funny thing is Maria does not consider The Devil To Pay to be erotic romance, it is however borderline for me and as she has said the steamiest book she has written yet but in my opinion still tastefully so… I have a huge crush now on Liam and Michael, too bad they are already taken by Shannon! LOL

    • It is very tasteful. I can’t really explain why I think the themes are erotic without spoilers. What I can say is that I thouroughly enjoyed it. 😉

      • No need to explain Charlie I know exactly what kind of reaction the book got from me and Hubba Hubba it was a hottie, truly though not sure exactly where the line is drawn but for me the erotic label does not mean the same thing it means to some other people…

    I think tequila *could* be the answer. It just depends on what question you’re asking 😉
